Archiprix International 2015 Workshop, a selection of world’s best recently graduated architects urban designers and landscape architects are invited to address these questions through diverse and specific design tasks. Design teams will be led by emerging local practices that will focus on real cases and invite relevant guest and stakeholders.
and Mohamed was invited to join this international event because of his participation in the Archiprix International with his project ALX-Performing Arts Center, which was submitted as the best graduation project of our school in 2013. Check his entry here
this year the workshop was in madrid titled [TOWARDS A MIDDLE-OUT URBANISM ] 10 days of intense work and Mohamed was member in one of the ten groups called [Analogical smart cities] his group goal was making a toolkit based on tactical urbanism to promote active urban learning processes through the translation of digital tools for urban design into analogical applications in order to empower the citizens of the city.
The toolkit is the product carried out by means of real experiences developed on specific sites. After collecting data, tools were put into practice and adapted to whatever specific urban context. Through the sharing of knowledge and operational procedures, the toolkit is capable of enabling social innovations that have a real impact on public spaces in the city.
